What do we treat?

Chronic Degenerative Illness

  • Chronic Lyme
  • Other chronic Infection
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Parkinson’s
  • Autoimmune Disorders
  • Arthritis
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Multiple System Atrophy
  • Long COVID-19
  • And More

Chronic Degenerative Illness fundamentally is a loss of regenerative power in your body. Our program is designed to restore your regenerative power. If, as in the case of chronic infection or an autoimmune process, the underlying issue must be addressed. In the case of chronic infection, we must deal with the pathogen and its “stealth pathology” forms. In the case of autoimmunity, we must deal with the ongoing stimulus or molecular mimicry that is perpetuating the problem. This is the strength of Functional Medicine (see Functional Medicine on this website).

Mitochondria are the powerhouses within each cell of the body. We use NAD+ IVs to restore Mitochondrial function. NAD+ is also important in Neuro-regeneration and Immune function. NAD+ has shown to Stabilize Telomeres thus preserving DNA function. NAD+ inhibits PARP-1 and can prevent pro-inflammatory cytokines overactivation.  In MS, NAD+ is depleted by chronic inflammation of the Brian.  In ALS, NAD+ is found at low levels in neurons.  In Cell culture NAD+ improved the health of these neurons. In Parkinson’s disease, NAD+ has shown improvement in more than 78% of those treated.

NAD+ contributes to or regulates many anti-cancer activities. NAD+ regulates the inflammatory response in immune and non-immune cells through a class of proteins called Sirtuins. These Sirtuins are central to normalizing many metabolic pathways.

A study published in Nature Communications Oct 7, 2012 showed that NAD+ can tune the immune response and restore tissue integrity by activating stem cells. In Rheumatoid arthritis; NAD+ metabolism is found to be abnormal. Replenishing NAD+ has been found to be restorative in RA. With regard to chronic infection; NAD+  has been shown to be a major modulator of immune-metabolic circuits, regulating immune responses and function. Impaired NAD+ biosynthesis and function has been shown during infection. Intervention with NAD+ has improved immune responses. In a recent paper titled “New insights into Lyme disease;” mitochondrial disfunction was found as a central issue.  A significant finding was abnormal NAD+ metabolism. Clinically it has been shown that NAD+ helps many with Lyme disease.

Another aspect of regeneration is neuroplasticity. Ketamine (an anesthetic medication) has been shown to help your brain release Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). This is essentially a growth hormone for your brain. It is central to neuroplasticity, and healing. Additionally, Ketamine has been shown to help with chronic pain, anxiety, depression and may be involved in unlashing your innate healing response.

Ketamine has potent anti-inflammatory activity. It reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine release both in the body and brain. Ketamine can both prevent and treat existing inflammation. Not only does it reduce pro-inflammatory pathways it has been shown to increase anti-inflammatory pathways in the body. However, these effects are most prevalent in the face of an immunostimulant, as the drug has little effect on the inflammation pathways of healthy controls. Ketamine also has an immune-modulatory effect. In other words it can “normalize” immune responses. Not just stimulate or depress the response. Additionally, it can inhibit inflammation-induced nitric oxide production. While Nitric oxide is important for regulation of blood flow in the body, inflammation induces nitric oxide via inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) has neurotoxic effects. As discussed above Ketamine seems to unleash our innate healing response. This may be due to its “Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness” (NOSC) induction. These states can be transcendent. Many people find that these experiences are life changing. Not unlike the experience of people who describe “near death” experiences, or the experiences of Ebenezer Scrooge in “A Christmas Carol.”

We also use IV Nutrition to bolster intracellular nutritional status. This can achieve levels that are not achievable by oral administration.

EEG Brain mapping and neurofeedback is used to help reprogram the Limbic system. This is a switchboard deep in your brain that controls immune, inflammation, circadian rhythms and more. Chronic illness can result in dysfunction of the limbic system. These therapies can repair it.

What is included in this program? An in-depth review.

These 6 things.

IV NAD+, IV Ketamine, IV Nutrition, Evoke Brain map and Neurofeedback, Coaching/Therapy and Oral Nutritional Supplements.

What follows is a deep dive into each.

1. IV NAD+ Continuous infusion for 10 consecutive days.

NAD+, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a critical coenzyme found in every cell in your body, and it is involved in hundreds of metabolic processes but NAD+ levels decline with stress, toxin exposure (Drugs and Alcohol), and with age. NAD+ has two general sets of reactions in the human body:

1, Helping turn nutrients into energy as a key player in metabolism and 2, working as a helper molecule for proteins that regulate other cellular functions. These processes are incredibly important. It regulates gene expression, controls your calcium levels (important in cell communication), and acts as a powerful antioxidant. So you’re less susceptible to harmful free radicals that you encounter in foods and pollution, due to stress, excessive exercise, and from drug, tobacco or alcohol consumption. NAD+ also helps regulate genes that accelerate the aging process.

A major aspect of NAD+ therapy is the “Resuscitation of your Mitochondria”. The mitochondria are the energy powerhouses of your cells. They are responsible for converting your food into energy. Without efficiently functioning mitochondria, you cant repair your tissues, make neurotransmitters or hormones. And you will fell mentally and physically sluggish.

NAD+ aids in addiction recovery:

Addiction is a complicated physiological process that affects the way messages are conveyed to and from the brain. The addiction recovery process can be a difficult one. In fact, 40 to 60% of people struggling with addiction relapse, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. And some statistics are even worse suggesting that less than 30% complete a recovery program.

NAD+ IV therapy is not a cure for addiction. However, it is a powerful tool that can aid in the recovery process by reducing withdrawal symptoms and cravings. By making the withdrawal period more tolerable, this therapy helps patients transition into sobriety.

NAD+ IV therapy is a natural alternative to medications that often pose a greater risk of side effects, and it works well in conjunction with counseling or psychotherapy. NAD+ IV therapy has been used to help patients detoxify from alcohol, opioid, stimulants, depressants, and prescription drug dependencies. It also reduces craving. This helps prevent relapse. One study showed dramatic reduction in drug or alcohol cravings within just a few days. In this study, patients rated their level of craving: on day one the average was 6/10, by day 5 it was less than 2/10, and by day 10 it was less than 1/10.

Reduces Pain

NAD+ helps your body use Sirtuins, a family of protein molecules that have been found to play a crucial role in the body’s inflammatory response and antioxidant expression. Basically, certain sirtuins can reduce inflammation, which in turn, alleviates pain. Sirtuins require the NAD+ coenzyme in order to function properly, so NAD+ IV therapy fuels this process of pain reduction. For many with chronic pain complexes such as Fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain or Complex Reginal Pain Syndrome (CRPS), NAD+ can result in long lasting pain relief.

Improve Cognitive Function

In addition to their impact on inflammation and pain, sirtuins have the ability to improve cells’ resistance to stress and can slow the process of cognitive decline. NAD IV therapy provides sirtuins with the NAD+ coenzyme they require in order to:

  • Improve mental clarity
  • Boost memory
  • Improve mood
  • Facilitate brain regeneration
  • Improve concentration
  • Increase one’s ability to focus
  • Boost neurological function
  • Reduce symptoms of depression
  • NAD+ has been used in the treatment of Parkinson’s, MS, ALS and other degenerative neurological conditions

Boost Energy

NAD+ IV therapy aids the production of ATP within the body, which in turn boosts energy levels and reduces feelings of tiredness or exhaustion. ATP or Adenosine Triphosphate is commonly referred to as “Energy currency” of the body because it is essentially the source of energy for our cells. ATP is the fuel that supports many processes within the body, including cellular respiration, replication of DNA, and muscle contractions.  NAD+ IV therapy is often prescribed to treat Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or CFS. It can also help people recovering from jetlag.

Improve Athletic Performance

Those looking to improve their physical performance will benefit from NAD+ IV therapy’s ability to boost energy and cognitive function, as mentioned above. After all, having more energy and being able to think clearly is sure to improve reaction times and overall performance during training and competitions. In addition, the NAD+ coenzyme plays a vital role in muscle development. NAD+ IV therapy helps maintain muscle health by supplying your body with ample fuel to not only fire muscles during a workout but repair them afterwards, so you can build stronger muscles and increase muscle mass.

Help with Weight Management

The NAD+ coenzyme plays an important role in the human body’s metabolic process. When NAD IV therapy is used in conjunction with a proper diet and regular exercise, it can help patients maintain a healthy weight. This can be particularly useful as patients age and metabolism naturally begins to slow down.

Reverse Signs of Aging

One of the consequences of Drug and Alcohol is looking far older than you are. We discussed how sirtuins can affect cognitive function, inflammation, and pain management, as well as how these sirtuins are dependent upon NAD+. One sirtuin in particular, known as Sir2p, also plays a role in the aging process and the overall healthspan of the body. NAD IV therapy impacts the effectiveness of Sir2p, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and reverse certain symptoms of aging. Remember that substance dependency even Tobacco can reduce your life span by as much as 25 years. NAD+ may help you recover some of that.

Delay or Prevent the Onset of Certain Diseases

Drug and Alcohol result in many illnesses. While research is still ongoing and more studies are needed to fully understand the impact of the NAD+ coenzyme on various conditions, scientists have found a connection between this vital enzyme and several cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Lowered levels of NAD+ have been linked to diabetes and fatty liver disease, among other conditions.

2. IV Ketamine. 1 four-hour session and 3 one-hour infusions.

Ketamine is an anesthetic medication used in surgery and emergency rooms the world over. The world health organization has placed Ketamine on its essential medication list. Ketamine has many healing effects at subanesthetic doses.

For many our 10-day program results in a lifelong remission. For some they require occasional “boosters.” However, ketamine is not a “replacement therapy”. It is used to reduce heal the brain. Its “Pure-Consciousness” or Psychedelic effects with proper “Set and Setting” also play a crucial rule in long term abstinence (see below)

Ketamine has multiple modes of action.

First it blocks a neurotransmitter called NMDA. NMDA receptor overactivation is implicated in overexcitability of the brain, NMDA receptor blockers have held much promise for the treatment of conditions that involve overexcitement of the brain, including drug withdrawal, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS, ALS, and Huntington’s.

Next it seems to have some interaction with several other neurotransmitters including the receptors commonly targeted by antidepressant, antipsychotic and antianxiety medications.

This combination of brain targets for ketamine has made it useful in the treatment of a wide variety of ailments, commonly associated with addiction including:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Acute Drug and Alcohol withdrawal
  • Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS)
  • PTSD
  • Chronic Pain

The third mode of action is a bit less well understood but may be the most powerful. This is called Pure Consciousness Events (PCE), more commonly called Psychedelic Events (PE). Psychedelic treatments may offer treatment benefits beyond their direct neurobiological effects. The psychedelic experience itself may allow providers an opportunity to work through therapeutical issues with patients. As Dr. Nutt, and associates state in their paper published in Cell, “psychedelic therapy harnesses a therapeutic window opened up by the brain via the effects of the drugs to facilitate insight and emotional release.”

This third mode of action has been shown to be the strongest predictor of long-term abstinence from drugs and alcohol . Basically, for many the “Ketamine experience” can be like the story “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. In this story, Ebenezer Scrooge is shown his life and what may come. This is a transformational event that changes his life. We all call someone who is stingy a “Scrooge,” but the reality is after his transformational experience, Scrooge becomes a man of great generosity and love.

During your Ketamine experience, “leaning in” to the experience has been found to be the most effective. If you encounter a frightening scene, explore it, even ask what is the meaning of this? What am I to learn from this? Being engaged with the Pure Consciousness Event (PCE) and exploring its meaning during the Ketamine experience is the beginning of the process. After your experience Integration and further exploration of the meaning of the events is critical. Our staff is expert at “holding space” for your experience. We are there to reassure you that you are safe and the experience is to help you.

For many these experiences are beautiful and “heavenly,” for others disturbing. Both types of experiences can, and generally do, lead to life transforming experiences. These transformations lead to Radical Acceptance and Self-Love.

Set and Setting are two important factors during your Ketamine experiences. Set is your mindset and the environmental setting. Your mindset of motivations, beliefs, physical, emotional, and cognitive state before the infusion are important to your experience. Being prepared to meet whatever comes during your session is important to foster a transformational experience. Setting is the clinical setting needed to feel safe, nurturing and non-judgmental. We strive to achieve this, but each individual will require their own unique support. We engage with you before and during to ensure we provide this.

3. IV Nutrition (Myers IV) 4 treatments.

Intravenous administration of nutrients can achieve serum concentrations not obtainable with oral, or even intramuscular (IM), administration. For example, as the oral dose of vitamin C is increased progressively, the serum concentration of ascorbate tends to approach an upper limit, as a result of both saturation of gastrointestinal absorption and a sharp increase in renal clearance of the vitamin. When the daily intake of vitamin C is increased 12-fold, from 200 mg/day to 2,500 mg/day, the plasma concentration increases by only 25 percent, from 1.2 to 1.5 mg/dL. The highest serum vitamin C level reported after oral administration of pharmacological doses of the vitamin is 9.3 mg/dL. In contrast, IV administration of 50 g/day of vitamin C resulted in a peak plasma level of 80 mg/dL.

Similarly, oral supplementation with magnesium results in little or no change in serum magnesium concentrations, whereas IV administration can double or triple the serum levels.

Various nutrients have been shown to exert pharmacological effects, which are in many cases dependent on the concentration of the nutrient. For example, an antiviral effect of vitamin C has been demonstrated at a concentration of 10- 15 mg/dL, a level achievable with IV but not oral therapy. At a concentration of 88 mg/dL vitamin C destroyed histamine.

Magnesium ions promote relaxation of both vascular and bronchial smooth muscle – effects that might be useful in the acute treatment of muscle pain, GI pain and other cases of spasm. It is likely these and other nutrients exert additional, pharmacological effects when present in high concentrations.

In addition to having direct pharmacological effects, IV nutrient therapy may be more effective than oral or IM treatment for correcting intracellular nutrient deficits. Some nutrients are present at much higher concentrations in the cells than in the serum. For example, the average magnesium concentration in myocardial cells is 10 times higher than the extracellular concentration. This ratio is maintained in healthy cells by an active-transport system that continually pumps magnesium ions into cells against the concentration gradient. In certain disease states, the capacity of membrane pumps to maintain normal concentration gradients may be compromised.

In one study, the mean heart magnesium concentration was 65-percent lower in patients with cardiomyopathy (a condition found in drug and alcohol users) than in healthy controls. As magnesium plays a key role in mitochondrial energy production, intracellular magnesium deficiency may exacerbate heart failure and lead to a vicious cycle of further intracellular magnesium loss and more severe heart failure.

Intravenous administration of magnesium, by producing a marked, increase in the serum concentration, provides a window of opportunity for ailing cells to take up magnesium against a smaller concentration gradient. If cells are repeatedly “flooded” with nutrients, the improvement may be cumulative. It has been the author’s observation that some patients who receive a series of IV injections become progressively healthier.

4. EVOKE: EEG BRAIN MAP AND NERUOFEEDBACK

Evoke is Quantitative EEG (qEEG) also called brain mapping and can pin-point areas of your brain that are functioning at suboptimal levels result in your symptoms. Using this information, we design, specific to you, neurofeedback programs to normalize your brain function.

With Quantitative EEG (qEEG) you get personalized assessments and treatments for a wide variety of conditions. Common conditions treated are: Self-Esteem, Mood, Memory, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, ADHD, Insomnia, and even to unleash your innate healing power (see a longer list below).

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is biofeedback for the brain. After identifying the areas to be treated with brain mapping we create programs to “reward” you when your brain map improves in the areas we are targeting. The reward is generally a color change or sound on the computer as we monitor your brain activity with the qEEG.

Nothing is being “put into” your brain (think of it like a heart monitor). The system is simply monitoring your brain; when it creates healthy patterns, the system gives the reward.

Sessions last about an hour. They consist of sitting in front of a computer screen and gently focusing on something that relaxes you. When the brain areas we are interested in move into a healthy patter you are given a signal by the computer, so you know what that healthy pattern feels like. Over time you learn to bring that feeling up at your will.

In addition to the conditional listed above Brain map directed Neurofeedback has been helpful in these disorders:

  • Sensory processing disorder
  • Epilepsy/seizure disorder
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Attachment disorder
  • Autism
  • Stroke
  • Brain fog
  • Lyme disease
  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Substance abuse cases
  • Concussions
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
  • Dyslexia (major reading issues)
  • Dyscalculia (major problems with math)
  • Tics and Tourette’s syndrome
  • Auditory processing issues
  • Fine and gross motor function
  • Executive function disorder
  • Self-Mastery
  • Misophonia (abnormally strong, negative reaction to normal human sounds like chewing/breathing

5. Coaching. Daily (in person or online; one-on-one or group) And ketamine assisted psychotherapy

This program is powerful, the most powerful aspect is the coaching. Provided in both private and group settings, online and in person, counselling provides context and integration to accelerate your transformation. We use a variety of coaching techniques based in “Radical Acceptance” and “Self-Love.”

You don’t need to be perfect to love yourself. You need to forgive yourself in order to love yourself. Radical Acceptance is forgiving and accepting all of you; the divine and the profane. As Elizabeth our program director says “Don’t wait to change in order to love yourself. Love yourself and see the change.”

Ketamine can help you unlock the subconscious mind and as Dr. Nutt, and associates state in their paper published in Cell, “psychedelic therapy harnesses a therapeutic window opened up by the brain via the effects of the drugs to facilitate insight and emotional release.” We offer ketamine assisted psychotherapy to leverage this “therapeutic window”.

One of the major aspects of addiction is its hidden, self-loathing, and embarrassing attributes. Groups help relieve the pain of isolation, self-loathing, and embarrassment. It helps you find a community of beautiful people struggling with the same brain disease. PTSD is not a moral failing; it is a brain disease.

This brain disease has likely caused you to do things you are not proud of … but they have been done, nothing can be done about that. You can only take the next step. That next step is a step toward Self-Love. All true love has a foundation in self-love. Once you find Radical Acceptance of yourself and self-love, you will be free and “love able”. In order to be loveable, you must first love yourself and be “love able”.

6. Oral Nutritional Supplements (about 20 days are included):

The good news is that the powders can be mixed into a shake and tastes ~ not too bad ~. But remember it is medicine not a milk shake.

Detox Protein powder.

You might not know that lacking any of these nutrients may impair your body’s ability to detoxify itself of potentially harmful substances, like PCBs, heavy metals, xenobiotics, drugs and alcohol. Chances are you already know the essential nature of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fiber, fatty acids, and amino acids for supporting your longevity and well-being. Research demonstrates that the nutrients and superfoods found in Detox Protein, such as pomegranate, curcumin, silymarin, sesamin, and green tea are integral for supporting healthy detoxification processes and immune function. As such, the benefits of Detox Protein supplementation may include:

• Supports your body’s natural detoxification processes

• Boosts antioxidant capacity

• Supports energy production and vitality

• Supports healthy immune and gastrointestinal function

• Helps you meet daily micronutrient requirements

• Includes pomegranate, turmeric, and milk thistle as well as Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs)

• Zero sugar

How Detox Protein Works:

Detox Protein is a clinical-grade food supplement containing a comprehensive spectrum of essential micronutrients, cofactors, fatty acids, amino acids, and dietary fiber for supporting healthy detoxification pathways in your body. Detox Protein mixes easily, is gluten-free, non-GMO, naturally sweetened and comes in a delicious vanilla flavor!

Your liver is one of the most crucial organs for removing toxic substances from your body; it helps filter blood from your gastrointestinal (GI) tract so that it can safely be sent throughout the rest of the body. Your liver is also a major site of drug/nutrient/chemical metabolism. When your liver function is compromised, phase I and phase II detoxification may be hindered and increase your risk of toxin buildup. The ingredients in Detox Protein support the primary phase II detoxification pathways including glucuronidation, sulfonation, methylation, glutathione conjugation, amino acid conjugation and acetylation. These enzyme systems are responsible for metabolizing unwanted chemicals by changing them into substances that can be safely excreted.

Detox Protein is formulated with select liver-supporting nutrients and cofactors, including taurine, N-acetylcysteine (NAC), methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), medium chain triglycerides (MCT), trimethylglycine (TMG), sesame seed (sesamins), quercetin, curcumin, green tea extract, milk thistle extract, grape seed extract, methyl folate and much more. These ingredients have been shown in contemporary clinical research to support healthy phase I and phase II detoxification in the liver, as well as support healthy immune function. The liver is just one component involved in detoxifying our body.

Other organs are also necessary to remove toxins including the skin, lungs, kidneys, and intestines. Detox Protein contains a variety of gut-supporting nutrients as well, such as vitamin A, carotenoids, acacia, quercetin, and pea protein.

Healthy GI tract function is critical for keeping your body free from toxin buildup, as your gut contains a multitude of enzymes and microbes that expedite the removal of unwanted substances from the body. Detox Protein also contains potassium citrate, which is naturally occurring in fruits and vegetables such as prune, avocado, apricot, orange, banana, cantaloupe, spinach, Swiss chard, and sweet potato. Potassium citrate provides key electrolyte support throughout your body and is most relevant to detoxification by supporting a higher alkaline state at the renal tubules, and thus, healthy kidney function.

Gut Support powder.

The lining of the gut must have proper permeability and integrity so it cannot only absorb nutrients, but also become a gatekeeper and promote healthy nutrition exchange with the blood stream. As such, maintaining gut health is the key to maintaining overall wellness. Gut Support is a comprehensive nutritional formula designed to support optimum gastrointestinal health and function. This naturally flavored and easy-to-digest drink mix provides key nutrients and herbal ingredients that assist the gastrointestinal tract, thereby promoting healthy digestive function, nutrient absorption, and waste removal.

Key Benefits and Quality Differences of Gut Support Include:

Support for gastrointestinal tract integrity and function

• Support for healthy digestive function

• Support for nutrient absorption

• Promotes waste removal

• Features 78 mg of zinc-carnosine

• Naturally flavored, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian

No GMOs, preservatives, or added sugars

How the Ingredients in Gut Support Work:

Gut Support features a carefully crafted spectrum of herbs and nutrients that are backed by research and demonstrated to be effective for supporting the gastrointestinal tract. Quantitatively, L-glutamine is the most important form of fuel for intestinal tissue, with research showing it is imperative for gastrointestinal integrity and healthy immune response.

Glucosamine HCl is an amino sugar that acts as a precursor to many glycosylated proteins and lipids throughout the body. A recent meta-analysis suggests that supplemental glucosamine HCl modulates the inflammatory response in the gastrointestinal tract, which may promote a healthy gut environment.

Gut Support also contains chelated zinc, as zinc-carnosine complex. This specific form of zinc has been shown to promote healthy gut function and support gut integrity.

The root of licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is abundant with novel phytochemicals, namely isoliquiritigenin, hispaglabridin B, and paratocarpin B. Clinical research suggests that these compounds help soothe the gastrointestinal tract by supporting the mucosal lining of the intestines and stomach. Gut Support contains deglycyrrhizinated (DGL) licorice which is free from substantial parts of glycyrrhizin and a safer option for long-term use.

In addition, Gut Support contains apple pectin, aloe vera leaf extract, slippery elm, and mucin, providing one of the most comprehensive ranges of plant-derived biologically active constituents for supporting and soothing the gastrointestinal tract.

Gut Support contains an array of herbal extracts, methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), and quercetin that work in synergy to attenuate everyday free radical bombardment of the gastrointestinal tract and support healthy gut inflammatory response.

BioIGG powder.

Pure IgG helps to maintain a healthy intestinal immune system by binding a broad range of microbes and toxins within the gut lumen. BioIGG is the only purified, dairy-free source of immunoglobulin G (IgG) available as a dietary supplement. Serum-derived bovine immunoglobulins (SBI) provide the highest IgG concentration available for GI and immune challenges where allergens are a significant concern.

Autoimmunity is on the rise globally, and recent research demonstrates a connection between autoimmunity and intestinal permeability. Drug and alcohol use damage the intestinal lining resulting in intestinal permeability. The discovery that the gut barrier plays a key role in immune health fueled the search to strengthen it. In that search, researchers found that the binding capabilities of immunoglobulins have a positive effect on gut barrier function.

Immunoglobulins bind microbes and toxins in the GI tract and eliminate them prior to immune system activation. As these unwanted triggers are removed, it resets healthy immune tolerance and builds a stronger barrier to the external environment. The GI tract acts as the gateway to the rest of the body, making the health of the gut barrier critical to overall health.

Environmental triggers like poor diet, high stress and toxin exposure (drugs and alcohol) can lead to GI challenges. In practice, probiotics are a natural choice for supporting beneficial bacteria in the gut, but supplementation to eliminate unwanted microbes should also be considered. BioIGG has been shown to bind microbes and toxins, further enhancing microbiome balance and facilitating gut barrier strength.

As seen in several studies, BioIGG has the potential to bind many types of microbes and toxins. This binding and elimination decreases microbe and toxin encounters by the immune system and resets immune tolerance.

When immune tolerance is lost, the checks and balances of antibody production can be affected. To reestablish immune tolerance and appropriate activation, the burden on the immune system must be reduced. Reducing the reasons to respond allows the tissue to maintain normal inflammatory balance and creates an environment for normal tissue repair and immune reconstitution.

The growth of healthy gastrointestinal (GI) bacteria is stimulated by prebiotic actions of the proprietary fiber blends. The proprietary fiber blends are also low-calorie and have been shown to support healthy lipid levels, blood sugar, and digestion. We also made sure to include essential enzymes for supporting absorption and digestion of nutrients from foods.

Brain Food powder.

Research suggests the nutrients contained in Brain Food may support cerebral and nervous system function in a variety of ways. Moreover, these nutrients work in concert for proper DNA maintenance, energy production, amino acid metabolism, and a variety of other processes. The most pertinent research-backed benefits of supplementation with Brain Food may include:

  • Supports cognitive function and healthy mood
  • Supports and maintains DNA
  • Supports blood and oxygen flow to the brain
  • Supports neurotransmitter production and neural tissue
  • Helps metabolize amino acids

How Brain Food Works:

Brain Food contains key B vitamins, including niacin, pyridoxine, folate, and vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin), which assist in production of neurotransmitters. Longitudinal studies suggest that deficiencies in several of the B vitamins accelerates brain tissue atrophy and cognitive decline. For example, chronic deficiency of vitamin B12 can lead to serious, irreversible health consequences such as damage to the brain and nervous system and/or pernicious anemia (lack of red blood cell production).

This is not surprising given that vitamin B12 is needed for the body to convert homocysteine to methionine; methionine is necessary for the formation of S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), an endogenous anti-depressant, which is involved in the synthesis of catecholamines and various neurotransmitters. Recent research suggests that supplemental folic acid and vitamin B12 work synergistically to support cognition, energy production, and neural tissue.

Pyridoxine is also important for cognition as it is necessary for conversion of L-DOPA to dopamine, as well as conversion of glutamate to GABA, and proper metabolism of L-tryptophan.

Furthermore, niacin stimulates production of a protein/growth factor in humans called brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). BDNF acts on neurons throughout the nervous system to encourage growth and replication, which is crucial for supporting long-term memory, learning, and overall cognition.

Brain Food also contains acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR), a highly bioavailable form of L-carnitine. ALCAR can cross the blood-brain barrier, where it helps to manage oxidative damage, support mitochondrial function, and maintain normal neurotransmitter activity.

Rounding out the Brain Food formula are alpha-glycerolphosphorylcholine (alpha-GPC), phosphatidylserine, and uridine monophosphate (UMP). These phosphorylated compounds are readily absorbed by the body and support production of neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine and dopamine. Studies suggest these nutrients work synergistically to support cognition and learning capacity.

TheaCalm pills.

TheaCalm provides additional support for stress relief and cognition. L-theanine in TheaCalm is an amino acid found in green tea that simultaneously promotes cognitive function and increased alpha waves in the brain, or what we call “alert relaxation.”

Alpha waves are produced when you are in a resting state, and beta waves are produced during periods of high mental activity. L-theanine works to increase alpha waves without decreasing beta waves. This means that TheaCalm can promote proper stress management and relaxation without sedation.

ANS Serenity pills.

ANS Serenity includes powerful antioxidants that act as anti-inflammatories to repair and reduce the damages of stress and promote increased cognitive performance, brain health, and support healthier sleeping habits and patterns. More than 40% of adults suffer from chronic stress and the underlying health issues it causes. Chronic stress affects every system in the body.

ANS Serenity draws on traditional Chinese medicine to provide a blend of herbal extracts that are potent antioxidants and phenolic compounds to rebalance systemic dysfunction.  Supplementation with ANS Serenity may help promote a wide range of chemical reactions in these systems due to the identified phenolic compounds and antioxidant properties that work to support stress response. The key is to manage the body’s stress response to promote overall health and healing.

ANS Relax pills.

ANS Relax promotes healthy brain function by providing ingredients that support neurotransmitter balance. As mentioned previously, stress can throw the body’s systems out of balance, including the nervous system. This happens when there is an imbalance between two important neurotransmitters, we need for healthy brain function, GABA and glutamate. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that the central nervous system (CNS) uses to decrease excitability and increase alpha waves promoting relaxation and a healthy mood. In contrast, glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter in the CNS that promotes healthy cognitive processes such as learning and memory.

However, too much glutamate can lead to cognitive impairment and increase neurodegenerative processes.  ANS Relax is a blend of three nutrients: green tea extract, taurine, and N-acetyl-L-cystine (NAC) that work in synergy to balance the interplay between these two neurotransmitters. These nutrients act on GABA receptors and enzymes that convert glutamate into GABA resulting in increased feelings of relaxation and tranquility.

Max Omegas (Fish Oil) pills.

An extensive body of clinical research has demonstrated the efficacy of supplemental EPA and DHA for:

  • Healthy cardiovascular function
  • Healthy immune function
  • Musculoskeletal support
  • Skin vitality
  • Cognitive support
  • Batch tested for over 450 potential contaminants
  • Triglyceride form

How Max Omegas Works:

Max Omegas provides ample amounts of EPA, DHA, and other omega-3 essential fatty acids, which are imperative for optimal health and wellness. Omega-3 fatty acids are considered “essential” because your body doesn’t produce them endogenously. In other words, you need to consume these particular fatty acids from food and/or nutritional supplements. The major providers of EPA and DHA in the human diet are fish.

Unfortunately, eating large amounts of fish is a growing health concern due to noxious heavy metals and environmental toxins that tend to accumulate in marine ecosystems. For simplicity and practicality, many people choose Max Omegas to meet their daily EPA and DHA requirements without having to worry about eating a large amount of fish or ingesting potentially harmful contaminants.

Physiologically, EPA and DHA are found in many parts of the human body, especially in cell membranes, making them integral components of membrane phospholipids. Research suggests that EPA and DHA can promote healthy gene and protein expression, support membrane protein activity, and serve as a reservoir for many biologically important molecules. DHA and EPA are also necessary precursors of several metabolites that promote and support general well-being.

Research consistently shows that DHA and EPA are some of the strongest natural promoters of a healthy cardiovascular system and supporters of healthy immune function and inflammatory biomarkers.

Research suggests that supplementing with EPA and DHA may help attenuate joint discomfort and support joint health. As we age, our joints are exposed to biomechanical and physiological stress through things like exercise and daily activity. As joints and cartilage lose integrity, your body naturally produces more inflammatory biomarkers (which can lead to joint discomfort).

The DHA and EPA in fish oil are postulated to be the primary anti-inflammatory nutrients for skin tissue. Research shows that regular use of a fish oil supplement promotes healthy signaling cascades in the skin. DHA and EPA also appear to support healthy oxidative stress in skin tissue.

EPA and DHA supplementation has been shown to significantly promote cognitive health. DHA and EPA are integral components of neuron membrane phospholipids, thereby supporting cognitive function.

What is the cost?

Chronic Illness is expensive. Looking at Chronic Lyme disease, it is estimated that the total annual cost may top $75 Billion. There are about 1 to 3 million chronic Lyme sufferers in the US. That suggests $25,000 to $75,000 cost per Lyme sufferer per year.

We charge $15,640.85 and our program type has, in the range of, 90% efficacy. Yes, it is a lot of money but compare it to the estimated $25,000 to $75,000 or more per year it suddenly looks like a bargain. Additionally, it has been estimated that there are 1,200 Lyme associated suicides per year in the US. Save your life… Literally.
